Instant Justice. Y’all need to watch it. It’s streaming on Netflix.

We kept saying, “There’s no possible way this can get worse better.”

And then, at the very end? It did.

I’ve never seen the original (I know, I know) so I didn’t go into it with any real expectations. I actually quite enjoyed it.

Like others who have reviewed the film, I’ll agree the story is a little thin throughout, with a couple of serious holes. The Inconvenience last saw the original as a teenager (which was like six decades ago, he’s old), so neither of us had a very good read on continuity if there was any intended.

Visually, it’s so shiny and pretty and neon! It was the first film I’ve ever seen in 3D, and I was pretty impressed with how that all worked out, even though it’s stupid-expensive and the glasses are uncomfortable.

Loved the soundtrack, and am on a total Daft Punk/techno kick because of it.

I lost track of which blogger/reviewers said what, and I don’t wanna steal any material here, but yes: young-ifying Clu was totally creepy, and Kevin Flynn was definitely The Dude 2.0.

I don’t think I’ve seen Garrett Hedlund (Sam Flynn) before, and I thought he was super cute. The Inconvenience was baffled by this, but (extremely mild spoiler alert) I’m pretty sure it has something to do with running from the cops on a motorcycle and living in a CONEX house. What can I say? I’m easy to win over.

Also, The Inconvenience caught up to 2005 with the realization that Olivia Wilde is hot. Stop the presses, right? I’ve been appreciating her since she was a blonde lesbian on The O.C.*, and even posted about her here in early ’07 when I was enjoying The Black Donnellys. Of course, since then everyone has hopped aboard the Thirteen bandwagon, but I want it on the record that I SAW HER FIRST.

There you go, Inconvenience. You’re welcome. The sky is blue, water is wet, Olivia Wilde is hot. I don’t know why I’m consistently six months ahead of him on these things (I beat him to Megan Fox, too) but hey, that’s how we roll.

I might try to go see True Grit today, if it works out. We’d also like to see The Fighter, but will probably just wait for DVD on that one.

*I feel the need to add that I only watched The O.C. because The Inconvenience was deployed and my best friend at the time (whose boyfriend was also deployed and therefore we hung out all. the. time.) was obsessed with the show. That period in time also involved a lot of wine in a box, so it’s wasn’t exactly an era of good judgment, alright!? Sheesh.
