QOTD:

Wild Deuce, in the comments:

As long as a party can always count on your vote, they will NEVER be obligated to listen to or respect your wishes.

Continuing to vote for Republicans simply because they are not Democrats, is like the battered wife choosing her abusive husband over the rapist because the husband at least says, “I love you.” There are other options.

Politics, Guns & Beer.

Well..if people continue to elect the same kind of pinheads to office based on what the MASSIVELY STUPID MEDIA tells them, instead of doing their own research to actually look at a candidates voting record and then choosing one that closest fits with their own ideals? We get the government we deserve. that is all.

The two party system is kind of like sex with Kobe Bryant–whether you want it or not, it’s still gonna happen.

True, but on the other hand it is usually easier to achieve real change by working inside the system instead of trying from outside.

I hear that batted around alot, but I’m not entirely sure that’s true. I can’t really think of a lot of success that has been achieved inside the system either. Take the tea parties for example. They’re pretty much getting co-opted in the the Republican party.
