SOTU

I wasn’t going to watch, but I walked into the room where Mike had it on, and he declared: “This guy is such an ASSHOLE!”

That about sums it up.

The highlight of the five minutes I saw was Obama scolding the SCOTUS – to their faces – for the campaign finance ruling. He said, “With all due respect to separation of powers… I urge Congress to pass legislation to correct this.”

*blink*

At that point, when I realized Scalia was not going to fulfill my fantasy and hop up there and punch P.BO in the face, I quit watching.

Then, The Inconvenience came in and said I better get on Gunbroker and buy the 1911 I’ve been eyeballing (Springfield 1911 Lightweight Champion Operator), because Obama said he wants to sign a small arms treaty. I said, “Seriously?” and he said “Yes, seriously!” and within about 2 seconds I was logging in… only to have him say “Psych!”

Not funny.

Now I think I’m going to go ahead and buy it as his punishment. Speaking of which, he just added a 1945 Remington-Rand 1911 (former property of the US Army) to the stable. Can you tell we’ve recently downed a copious amount of the JMB Kool-Aid?

Oh, the other thing I caught in the few minutes of SOTU I watched was Obama blaming our spending problems on George W. Bush. I don’t have the exact quote, but the gist of it was “Yeah, well, HE WAS WORSE!”

I saw on FoxNews that he’d said it was time to give Americans the government they deserve. Funny, I feel like we have it.

I didn’t bother to watch it. I got good and buzzed instead. Caught some of the soundbites this morning though. Scolding the SCOTUS..idiot. “That’s why I’m calling on congress to start work on a new jobs bill..TONIGHT” We don’t need a jobs bill. We need the politicians including the prez to sit the hell down, shut the hell up, and stay the hell out of our way. While we the people fix the absolute fubar they’ve made of things.

Sigh..
yeah, I know…wishful thinking.

I had some Lagavulin, gave Ellie her birthday presents, and went skeet shooting.

Yelling at the TV seemed stupid, and I knew that’s all I’d be doing.

A few things:

1. Obama is an idiot.
2. Scalia would have done this country, and the world a favor, had he delivered a punch to that arrogant assholes face.
3. Nothing wrong with JMB koolaid. Welcome to the club!

Another boondoggle for a jobs stimulus bill. Just thirteen more money pits for the Democrats to throw our tax dollars into, and a bunch more people who will owe their livelihood to tax dollars. Amtrak can’t make the existing hi-speed rail line from Boston to D.C. pay for itself, and that’s the only place in the U.S. where the population density comes close to making rail economically feasible. Cleveland to Cincinnati via Dayton and Akron; that’ll have what, maybe 1000 riders a day at best and have an operating cost of a million or more a day? No need for continuous heavy government subsidies there!

“With all due respect to separation of powers… I urge Congress to pass legislation to correct this.”

Uh yea, and the law would be unconstitutional right?

Time to send the POTUS back to civics 101
