		<description>And let us not forget my homie Thomas Paine.  Heck, even Washington was only nominally Christian.  He paid to have a pew at his church but was never at service.  However, it is fair to say that &quot;Christian values&quot; were the order of the day; just not among many of the enlightenment figures of the era.  Paine&#039;s reputation went to Hell when [u]The Age of Reason[/u] became widespread back in America.</description>
