I am a genius.
In a fit of masochism, I’ve taken up CrossFit. The Inconvenience and I wanted to lift in the garage this evening, but The Girl Child had already gone to bed, and we don’t have a baby monitor. Whatever would we do?
We have Cingular. Well, AT&T now. With free mobile-to-mobile calls. So, I called his phone from my phone. I then put my phone on speakerphone and put it on the bed by TGC. I set his to speakerphone as well, but also put it on mute, so we could hear but not transmit.
Bam: Cell phone baby monitor.
Worked like a charm, too – I could hear really well, even when she’d just rustle around in her sleep.
Genius, I tell you.

Just so you know, you two were the nail in the coffin – I (after much debate and procrastination) signed up for Crossfit as well.
If I don’t look like one of the 300 in 6 months I’m coming to Idaho angry!

I call it ghetto baby monitor- I used to do it when we lived in apartments and had to go down the sidewalk to take out the trash or check the mail. We were too cheap to buy a baby monitor! :c)
