Oh yeah, I was quoted in the Spokesman-Review.
Here. Page 2, three paragraphs, near the bottom. Here’s the gist, with my full name redacted (I’m trying to keep my Googleability somewhat controlled, so sue me):
Laurel [me], who was president of the Univerity (sic) of Idaho College Republicans in 2005, said the choice could make a difference in her vote.
[me] said she doesn’t support McCain and was considering voting for Libertarian Bob Barr. She said she has followed Palin’s work the last few months since finding out that she is an Idaho alumna and is impressed with her record of reform.
“This is the first time I have seen a running mate change my interest,” [me] said. “I need to determine how much of a role she’ll take in the presidency and whether or not it will make up for the shortcomings of John McCain.”
Incidentally, that is a completely accurate depiction of what I said, for once. I think they even nailed the quote word-for-word.

As soon as I heard Palin would be the VP nominee I was stoked! She’s who I was hoping he’d pick, just couldn’t believe it.
I’m looking forward to the possibility of Palin ‘12 :D
I was going to go McCain just for the purpose of voting against Obama (especially considering the politics of my county, and I don’t really have a problem with McCain. Even though I wanted Fred). But now I’m pretty excited, have been for days. Partly because I’m watching some self-destruction on the Dem side, partly because I’m excited about the possibility of more Scalia and Thomases.
I still am hoping for SecDef Schwartzkopf.
I’m not really excited over the whole Governor Palin thing. She sounds pretty good on paper, but the bottom line is she
1. Isn’t going to be president, but vice president
2. Senator McCain would have four years (at least) of working her into the Neo-con way of life (which some of her “positions” are already showing)
3. What serious difference would any of it make who is president? Taxes will still go up, wars will still go on (and new ones found) and our economy will still go to crap. Local elections are much more key.
She’s certainly the best of the four major players, and probably the least of all the evils, but I’m not voting for evil in any case.
Either not voting at all, or writing in Ron Paul. Haven’t made that uber-important decision yet.
